Learn String Manipulation by Building a Cipher - Step 41

Tell us what’s happening:

I see it says that it needs to distinguish true and false, so I write two line about ‘if’, but it still shows wrong.

Your code so far

# User Editable Region

text = 'Hello World'
shift = 3
alphabet = 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
encrypted_text = ''

for char in text.lower():
    if char == ' ':
        print(True)
    if char!=' ':
        print(False)
    index = alphabet.find(char)
    new_index = index + shift
    encrypted_text += alphabet[new_index]
    print('char:', char, 'encrypted text:', encrypted_text)

Hi there, welcome to the community! :waving_hand:

You’re almost there! you only need one if condition to check for a space (no need to use !=). Also, your print statement need to be something like 'space!'

Keep it up, you’re doing great!

thank you very much! I have done it!!
