Hello there. I need some guidance. I’ve been stuck on this step for around 15 minutes now and I’m not sure what I have not tried. I’ve called my function but when I try to store the return variable in my variable, all I get are error messages. Where do I go from here?

You cannot use return outside a function. To store the value returned by a function into a variable you need to assign the function call to that variable.
