you added a nested .canvas selector inside the .canvas selector which was provided to you initially. You didn’t need that (and it doesn’t work in css to do that).
Remove the extra .canvas { line and leave only the filter line.

just add {filter: blur(2px);}
you are already working on the .canvas element.
