Your code so far

 var mongoose = require('mongoose');
  var Schema = mongoose.Schema;
mongoose.connect(process.env.MONGO_URI);

var personSchema = new Schema({
  name: {
    type: String,
    required: true
  },

Can you provide a link to your Glitch project? If you are not using Glitch, then please provide a link to your full project code (i.e. GitHub or codesandbox.io).

@sieroniekuggy We may need to update the instructions as you are not supposed to make any changes to the server.js file. Instead, you are only supposed to make changes to the myApp.js file and the package.json file for all of these exercises.

In fact, the first 4 lines of the server.js file show the following:

/********************************************
 * DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE
 * the verification process may break
 *******************************************/

I suggest starting the project over with a new clone of the boilerplate and update only the myApp.js and package.json file where necessary.

ok thank you. let me start from stratch

now mongoose is not connecting to the database
