Need help with the “Build a Technical Documentation Page” project

Hello guys, I am stuck on the technical documentation page project.
i have been strugling with css. please help me out.

On regular sized devices (laptops, desktops), the element with id=“navbar” should be shown on the left half of the screen. It should always be visible to the user and should remain stationary. You may need to enlarge the viewport or zoom out to ensure the navbar doesn’t scroll with the page content.

Kindly assist and please explain the solution so that I can fully understand. Thank you in advance.

I have moved this into a more suitable sub-forum.

Some things to note:
1)//also tried width 100% or even 200vw This is not how you make comments in CSS. CSS uses /* Comment */
2) There is no navbar element in HTML so you cannot select one in CSS like this:

width: 100%;
height: 100%;
margin-left: -3.2em;
display: flex;
