I didn’t come across the “div” element at all while learning to create the cat photo app using HTML but I hear the word being associated a lot with HTML. What is it used for?
that’s odd. you should have.
div (s) are basically building blocks of web page
like bricks. or boxes in which everything goes.
for example there is usually one div that has class container that is on every page, and that’s a big box in which all the text goes. divs can be other smaller boxes that contain content and images. they usually help you separate content nicely, when styled through classes.
