NodeJS: how to detect last utterance (espeak)?

Hi all,
I’m currently writing a text editor with audio cues[0] using:

  • node.js (spawn)
  • espeak
  • ed

At the moment I can’t detect the last utterance (from espeak), so, if I keep pressing keys the words just accumulate(and espeak doesn’t stop until the last word is pronounced).

My idea is only accept input when no words are being pronounced. It can be done?
