Not getting or unable to understand this. Please explain. Related to CSS

Hello, Campers!

I’m learning “Responsive Webdesign on FCC”. While going through the course under the “Applied Visual Design” topic, I’m unable to understand the last line given in the below paragraph. Please, anybody, explain what does " This adds six more colors to a simple color wheel for a total of twelve. " this statement trying to tell?

Tertiary colors are the result of combining a primary color with one of its secondary color neighbors. For example, within the RGB color model, red (primary) and yellow (secondary) make orange (tertiary). This adds six more colors to a simple color wheel for a total of twelve.

Thank you,
Madan.

Welcome, Madan.

I am sure others can explain this much better than I can. So, here are two excellent pages for you to read:

  1. This page explains what that fCC lesson is trying to, but in more words and pictures: https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_theory.asp
  2. This page explains the use of the 12 colours very well: https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_wheels.asp

Hope this helps
