Challenge: Create a Form Element

Link to the challenge:

Hello there.

Do you have a question?

If so, please edit your post to include it in the Tell us what’s happening section.

The more information you give us, such as which tests are failing, the more likely we are to be able to help.

I have this “form action” element and I don’t know where the stuff goes. Please help me.

Here is the example form element:

<form action="/url-where-you-want-to-submit-form-data"></form>

And here are the instructions:

Nest the existing input element inside a form element and assign "https://freecatphotoapp.com/submit-cat-photo" to the action attribute of the form element.

In your code

it looks like you have two problems

  1. Your form element does not match the syntax of the example. You have no closing tag.

  2. Your input is not ‘nested’ inside your form. Do you remember what nesting means?

nesting means to hold on

In HTML, ‘nesting’ refers to a certain relationship between two elements:

<main>
  <h1>Hello World</h1>
  <p>Hello Paragraph</p>
</main>

In this example, the h1 and p elements are nested inside of the main element.

oh I see. So, how can I make this into the pattern? Where do I convert it?

You need to ‘nest’ the input element in between the opening and closing form element tags.

Can you code it for me? I don’t know how to do it.

We don’t code things for people on the forum.

But I am happy to help clarify what I said.

What part of

You need to ‘nest’ the input element in between the opening and closing form element tags.

can I clarify?

‘nesting’ example:

<parent>
  <nested>
</parent>

form element example:

<form action="/url-where-you-want-to-submit-form-data"></form>

provided input element:

  <input type="text" placeholder="cat photo URL">

your form should action attribute which is set to https… Where do I put that in?

<form action="/url-where-you-want-to-submit-form-data"></form>

The url you are given replaces /url-where-you-want-to-submit-form-data in the example.

thank you sooooooooo much!
