Record Collection explanation 1

Tell us what’s happening:
Hi Guys

I would like a help to understand what should I do in this exercise.

I do not want the answer but if someone could explain me more clearly what they want me to do would be appreciated thanks in advance :slight_smile:

Your code so far

// Setup
var collection = {
    "2548": {
      "album": "Slippery When Wet",
      "artist": "Bon Jovi",
      "tracks": [
        "Let It Rock",
        "You Give Love a Bad Name"
      ]
    },
    "2468": {
      "album": "1999",
      "artist": "Prince",
      "tracks": [
        "1999",
        "Little Red Corvette"
      ]
    },
    "1245": {
      "artist": "Robert Palmer",
      "tracks": [ ]
    },
    "5439": {
      "album": "ABBA Gold"
    }
};
// Keep a copy of the collection for tests
var collectionCopy = JSON.parse(JSON.stringify(collection));

// Only change code below this line
function updateRecords(id, prop, value) {

  return collection;
}

// Alter values below to test your code
updateRecords(5439, "artist", "ABBA");

I will try.

Let’s grab the first requirement.
After updateRecords(5439, "artist", "ABBA"), artist should be "ABBA"

This is how I would solve it.

function updateRecords(id, prop, value) {
  collection[id][prop] = value;
  return collection;
}

Now use the same logic to fulfill other requirements.
Hope you get the picture!
