      <div class="well" id="right-well">
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target4">#target4</button>
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target5">#target5</button>

Link to the challenge:
https://www.freecodecamp.org/challenges/target-elements-by-class-using-jquery

it says to: Use the jQuery addClass() function to give the classes animated and shake to all your elements with the class well.

You are adding bounce, not shake. You are adding classes to button elements, not those with the class well.

i tried to change up top bounce to shake and still didnt work

Did you change it to target elements with the class well instead of button elements?

thanks a lot attention to detail is crucial. i never even acknowledged the only change code above this line. all you have to do is plug in .well and then animated shake

For this challenge, it only tells you to add the animated and shake classes to objects in your .well class, but it doesn’t let you pass unless you also add the bounce class, which was needed in the previous challenge.
