Hi everyone, hope you are well, I hope this is the right place to make this topic.
This topic feels like an important first step I am taking as I am going to begin the Full Stack Developer course, currently I am just working as customer service at the moment, feeling very stagnated in my career and life realizing that I need to make a change, and a very big one, to upskill and change my career completely knowing I can never get ahead with what I am doing right now to accomplish my dreams.
So this brings me here as suggested by a friend, to try coding, seeing the whole world around me get ahead along with my former colleagues and feeling left behind also is pushing me to do things differently, and better this time.
Anyone else feels the same way? It feels less scary now as I write and post this.

Great choice. Once you learn a bit a customer service job is actually a good place where you might be able to build small tools to help you in your work.

Hi pkdvalis, thanks for the message, I plan on switching jobs, doing something more technical than what I am doing right now and see this as my opportunity to do so.
Good luck in your journey. The course is exactly designed for people who want to do it while having a full time day job. You can do as much or as little as you can fit into your life around other tings.
Hi @hammad98 and welcome to our community!
I can’t recommend this course highly enough. I’ve been working through it since it launched and finding it really interesting, challenging and rewarding.
If you ever get stuck, there’s a brilliant community right here who can help you.
Happy Coding!

hey, thank you for the response, definitely one of the big plus points, anything you would recommend? Have you done this same course as well?
oh wow! how far are you into it now? the only way I see myself being stuck is in terms of moral/motivation or energy level.
Yes I am doing the full stack developer course. I started off doing the legacy courses, Responsive Web Design and Javascript and then switched to the Full Stack Developer course when it was introduced. I’m currently just over half way through the Javascript course. I would totally recommend the course. It combines theory (lectures) with practical exercises. All the lectures are transcribed so you can read the transcripts if the lectures are too fast.
The exams are not yet ready but the team is working on them. If you get stuck on an exercise you can click the help button. First you have the option of linking through to other forum queries on the same step. If you are still stuck you can put a question to the forum. They all get answered.
Good luck!
I’ve got almost to the end of the Javascript course so far. Doing Classes right now.
that is so awesome, how long did it take to reach all the way there? there are so many other things like odin project, that looks similar to this, right?
wow, how long did it take? and classes for what exactly?
I started the full stack curriculum at the end of December but I had some experience doing the legacy courses before then which helped. Also I am taking my time to read and understand so progress has been slow.
I haven’t looked at the Odin project. As well as the legacy courses I did some of the even older legacy courses such as this one https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/javascript-algorithms-and-data-structures/ There’s no need to do them though with the full stack curriculum so it’s best to start there.
Javascript Classes are a type of object which you’ll come to when you work through the curriculum. I also did much of the old curriculum so I can understand quite well the progress which has been made by the FCC team in developing the new Full Stack Certification.
It will take some time to work through this certification (possibly several months) but it’s well worth the effort!
