I couldn’t start the course at all. “Starting virtual server” even after 1 hour. I’ve tried with different browsers: chrome, opera, safari, firefox and got the same result. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this issue?
I was having the same issue. I was able to figure out that it was my VPN preventing it to go through. My simple fix was basically right-clicking on the webpage and disabling my VPN for the domain and subdomains.
Hopefully, everyone’s issue is similar. Good luck.
@moT01 can you add this tip to the troubleshooting section?
I’m facing the same exact issue. I have uBlock disabled and don’t have a VPN.
I logged into CodeAlly, removed deleted the corresponding project, hoping freeCodeCamp would regenerate a new one, but it didn’t help.
It started working after few hours
I’m facing the same problem and I tried all the suggested solutions in the previous comments and the same thing the issue still exist.
Has anyone found a resolution? I was also running NordVPN but after disabling it the issue still remains. I think it could also be because of the Git Hub profile being private or the web browser blocking all 3rd party cookies.
I’m facing the same issue. I logged in fine a few days ago but now I’m just spinning on the virtual server step.
Can I complete the lessons on the downloaded version and upload the main projects on freeCodeCamp website to earn the certification?
I have the same issue with the mario database. It’s getting stuck in starting virtual server.
As an update it is now working for me, with no additional actions taken.
How did you solve the issue, can you please explain me because I’m also stuck. I can’t continue with my lesson’s and projects right now
I made my github profile public and I also enabled third party cookies but it is still not working. can anyone help me please
has this issue been fixed because I’ve been facing the same problem, sometimes by luck if i refresh the page it might work but most of the recently is been getting stuck
I’m facing the same issue. Has anyone figured a working solution yet?
@mactevl I have been having exacting the same issues for days now. I was initially thinking it was my laptop or browser. Having cleared cache and confirmed third party cookies and a lot of things I tried, I then realised it could be the CodeAlly server… It’s kind of frustrating having set out targets to finish up.
Hi, I’m having the same issue here, lagged at “Starting virtual server”.
Interestigly, a few days ago the course was working (with the same browser, place etc.), however I could not complete each lesson level unless I first logged out of the psql in the terminal and logged back again with the dbasename “postgresql” - only then could I go to the next one.
Is the SQL course underogoing some maintenance now?
