"Basic CSS: Give a Background Color to a div Element" is broken

Tell us what’s happening:

I followed everything the challenge said and the div element has a silver background, yet it keeps telling me to give the div element a silver background. I created the class in the style block as it said, without typos, applied the class to the div element as it said (without typos), and it is still broken. I tried reloading the page and that doesn’t work either. I also tried other methods of giving the div element a silver background, such as creating a div element class in the style block itself, and that didn’t work. This is very frustrating since I know I did this correctly, but I can’t continue with my lessons because it won’t submit.

Challenge: Give a Background Color to a div Element

Link to the challenge:

@Ana_1 it seems there’s nothing wrong with your code, I’d recommend you try this lesson in a different browser.

Yup, that was it. I switched to Chrome and tried it there, and it worked. Guess it’s just a bug on Firefox. Thanks!

Having the same issue. I tried this on chrome and on IE. It still says class needs to be defined.

Hi @mk.sharathmk. Welcome to FCC. Try using a different browser as suggested by @ShAfi above.

HaHaHa… it worked on Mozilla firefox. As Ana_1 had the this issue in firefox, i did not try that. Thanks
