    if not isinstance(shift, int):
        return 'Shift must be an integer value.'

# User Editable Region

    if (shift<=1):
        return "Shift must be a positive integer."

# User Editable Region

    alphabet = 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
    shifted_alphabet = alphabet[shift:] + alphabet[:shift]
    translation_table = str.maketrans(alphabet + alphabet.upper(), shifted_alphabet + shifted_alphabet.upper())
    return text.translate(translation_table)

Build a Caesar Cipher - Step 19

is a shift of 1 acceptable?

… that checks if shift is less than 1

no, it gives the “positive int” warning

what do the instructions say about a shift of 1?

Therefore, after your first if statement, create another if statement that checks if shift is less than 1 and returns the string Shift must be a positive integer. .

should the message be returned for 1?
is 1 a positive integer or not?

what is your code doing?

im stupid, my bad, i just realised that i was puting <= instead of < , i already submited it, thanks!
