Make sure you’re using the right dash character. You should use the shorter one.

How would I access this shorter dash character, where would it be?

It should be to the right of the 0 key, assuming you’re using a US QWERTY keyboard.

Hmm, that is the one I am using

That’s weird then. I could never type that long dash on my keyboard alone.
