The 2026-27 Premier League season kicked off on August 22, and so far, what I can say is it’s going to be a very competitive season ahead.

Matchweek 2 Wrap — What a Weekend 
Manchester City ran riot with a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace, continuing to look sharp under Enzo.
Chelsea got a narrow win over Brighton, 4-3. Xabi Alonso’s side showed they can go toe-to-toe offensively.
Manchester United were the standout story, coming back from a poor opening-day defeat to Hull City, they beat Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford, with Bruno Fernandes bagging a hat-trick to put United right back on track.
One game still to go before we wrap up matchweek 2, Aston Villa host Arsenal.

i know nothing about this but I’ve been watching the Welcome to Wrexham documentary so at least I understand that leagues are different levels of the sport of football in Britain. I’ve lost track of which league they’re in now though.
They are currently in the Championship. They were so close to being promoted to the Premier League, but that didn’t happen. If they perform well this season, they will be promoted to the “Top League” in England that’s the EPL.
The only thing I can comment is, “Since when is Como in Champions League?”
I do not follow much the sport, I only learn through osmosis… and I learned Como just gained a spot in Serie A
Great question. Como qualified for the Champions League by finishing fourth in Italy last season, mind you, it was Cesc Fàbregas’ first season in charge.
Do you think that PSG will win this for the third time in a row?
Well, it’s hard to tell, but I recently watched their head coach’s interview, and he sounded confident he’d pull it off
Matchweek 3 Wrap & Champions League Kicks Off
Matchweek 3 is done and dusted, and it delivered plenty of drama, with key highlights being:
Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea was the standout, with Morgan Rogers scoring at the Emirates after just 77 seconds.
Manchester United and Everton shared a thriller, 2-2, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles equalizing for Everton at stoppage time on his debut.
And the real headline this week, Champions League is back! The league phase kicks off tomorrow, September 8, running through Thursday. Some huge ties on opening night: Real Madrid vs Inter, Porto vs Man City, and Borussia Dortmund vs Villarreal on Tuesday, before Liverpool vs Atlético Madrid and Napoli vs Arsenal light up Wednesday, and Manchester United host Sabah on Thursday.

The wait is over. The Champions League returned on Tuesday, and Day One delivered plenty of drama
Real Madrid 2-1 Inter Milan
Manchester City 2-0 (away) vs Porto
Aston Villa 3-2 (away) vs Club
And today, Day Two, Barcelona host Feyenoord, Liverpool welcome Atlético Madrid, defending champions PSG take on Slovan Bratislava, and last season’s beaten finalists Arsenal travel to Napoli in what should be one of the ties of the night.
