I’ve completed the archived Responsive Web Design and JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures coursework previously, but noticed the new Full Stack Developer beta curriculum. I decided to work through these as refreshers and review the content.
It feels as if there is a huge difference in the learning process. I have spend the majority of the time working through these watching lecture after lecture with minimal application in between. The one thing I really enjoyed about the previous coursework was being forced to learn these coding languages line by line, coding each line myself.
Now the videos are a great idea, it can help bring the concepts together easier in order to apply in the next assignment. However, there are so many back to back. With respect as well, a large portion of the videos so far have been really difficult to follow as someone with ADHD, even with reading the script along with the video. Learning to code is FUN and EXCITING! These videos should match that energy, rather than just reading a script word for word with a tone that is hard to not space out to.

I also have a bit of trouble working through the videos.
If you’ve already completed a lot of the previous coursework, a lot of the videos will be review. You can try answering the questions right away without watching the video, or watching it on a slightly faster speed.
I also tend to alternate between watching the videos and reading the transcript instead. Just reading the transcript is a bit better for me because I can go at my own pace and it’s just a bit more engaging to me personally.
