I’m 16 and I recently got into the idea of being an AI Engineer when I grow up. Currently I’m making my way through FreeCodeCamp’s python for beginners course as a start to becoming an AI Engineer. I’m wondering what should I do after I finish the python course in order to become an AI engineer? I’m not sure if I should continue with the other courses or try get a certificate of some sort, I have my own personal projects in mind I’d like to try make with AI for the future.
what do you mean with “AI Engineer”? Do you mean someone that works on researching and creating AIs or something else?
I believe that’s ml engineering, I want to use existing ai models and integrate them into projects that could help make tasks easier, or something similar to that.
then it depends on what you want to integrate them with
are you looking at webapps, or what other kind of systems? then the choice will be about that, and learning to integrate APIs in the project in the language and convention of that type of projects
I’m still not sure about what to get into. Do you have a list of things I could look into? Personally webapps doesn’t look like what I would enjoy. Some of my ideas include having an ai recognize objects like cars and passengers, but I don’t know where that would fall under.
Machine Learning if you were to train the AI
but as you said you want to include the app in programs, are you thinking a desktop app, a mobile app, a cli app… ?
In machine learning they seem to hire more so Applied mathematics PhDs than Comp sci majors so keep that in mind.
