I recently moved a website off WordPress because it’s now much easier to add new features with AI, thinking I was one of the few people doing the same thing.
It turns out AI is becoming one of the biggest drivers pushing people away from WordPress.
While WordPress is doing its best to adapt, people are moving away from the platform faster than they’re adopting its native AI features.

I don’t think WordPress is disappearing anytime soon, but AI has definitely changed how I approach projects. For simple landing pages or quick prototypes, AI saves a lot of time. For anything involving custom functionality, integrations, or long-term maintenance, WordPress and experienced developers still have a big role.
To me it’s less about “leaving WordPress for AI” and more about using AI as another tool in the workflow. I’m curious how many people here have actually switched completely, and how it’s been working out for real client projects.
AI is definitely changing the way people think about building and maintaining websites. WordPress still has a huge ecosystem and flexibility, but for some projects, the speed and simplicity of AI-assisted development with static sites can be a big advantage. It will be interesting to see how WordPress evolves and whether its AI features can keep up with the changing expectations of users and developers.

I remembered when I worked at a agency, one of the clients had us build out marketing pages for them . But I imagine those types of gigs are long gone now because of AI.
As the others have mentioned, it will be interesting to see how wordpress evolves.
