Is Back End Development and APIs fcc course up to date or is there a better course about APIs and Back End Development that I should take instead?
I just received the Back End Developments and APIs certificate and I think it’s fine. The reality is that if you’re going to take courses for every new version of Mongoose and MongoDB, then you’re going to have to take courses very often. In general, between versions are very similar, once you have the knowledge you can look in the documentation what changes the new version brought. This is a very good course, and not at all simple. Good luck.
Thanks for letting me know! I am going to start that course tmrw. I know this is irrelevant because everyone works at their own speed, but I’m curious how long did it take you to finish the Back End Developments and APIs course? I’m guessing a while seeing that it is on the complicated side
I didn’t have an exact time, my study method is somewhat rare. Every time I start a new topic in FreeCodeCamp I start doing external courses, for example, when I started this course I immediately went to Udemy and did two MERN Full Stack courses (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js and Node.js), so I don’t know exactly how long it would have taken me if I did only this course. But I can tell you that I had a lot of fun, especially in the final exercises!
PS: I do not show you the links of the Udemy courses because they are in Spanish
EDITED: With the external courses I learned the v5.x.x version of Mongoose.js. The same as in this course. The current version is v7.4.0
