Is it necessary to use codepen when building projects?

Hi,
I’m new to freecodecamp. I started with Responsive web design. I’m about to started projects. I wondering if it is important to use codepen when building projects or I can use any text editor I want. The reasons is that I am skeptical if freecodecamp test suite will work with code moved from other text editor.

Do I have to use CodePen for the front end projects?

As long as your code is publicly viewable somewhere on the internet, and you have a live demo, you can use whatever tools you want.
