Learn Basic CSS by Building a Cafe Menu - Step 16

Tell us what’s happening:

Describe your issue in detail here.
I keep getting this message:

“You should have one self-closing link element.”
I’ve read other post with the same issue and I made sure there wasn’t a type ‘o’, not sure what else could be wrong. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Step 16

Now you need to link the styles.css file so the styles will be applied again. Nest a self-closing link element in the head element. Give it a rel attribute value stylesheet and an href attribute value of styles.css.

Your code so far

Cafe Menu
<!-- file: index.html -->
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">

<!-- User Editable Region -->

  <head>

    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Cafe Menu</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css"/>
</head>

<!-- User Editable Region -->

  <body>
    <main>
      <h1>CAMPER CAFE</h1>
      <p>Est. 2020</p>
      <section>
        <h2>Coffee</h2>
      </section>
    </main>
  </body>
</html>
/* file: styles.css */
h1, h2, p {
  text-align: center;
}

Your HTML looks good and passes for me. Are you using any browser extensions that modify the page, such as a dark mode extension? If so, they may be interfering with the tests. You can try disabling them or switch to a “clean” browser that doesn’t have any extensions installed.

I was in dark mode so I switched back and refreshed the page but I am still getting the error. I think I’ll just start fresh. Thanks.

Took your advice, just switched over to another browser and it passed. Thanks.
