Learn Basic CSS by Building a Cafe Menu - Step 22

I don’t really understand the 22nd step, as I tried to add a comment but it still won’t recognize it as correct "Comments in CSS look like this:

/* comment here */

In your style sheet, comment out the line containing the background-color property and value, so you can see the effect of only styling div element. This will make the background white again."

Your code so far

<!-- file: index.html -->
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8" />
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0" />
    <title>Cafe Menu</title>
    <link href="styles.css" rel="stylesheet"/>
  </head>
  <body>
    <div>
      <main>
        <h1>CAMPER CAFE</h1>
        <p>Est. 2020</p>
        <section>
          <h2>Coffee</h2>
        </section>
      </main>
    </div>
  </body>
</html>
/* file: styles.css */
body {
  background-color: burlywood; /* div */
}

h1, h2, p {
  text-align: center;
}

div {
  width: 300px;
}

What goes instead of “comment here”?

Yeap got it. I had to put the whole background property and value inside the /comment/. The instruction could have been: turn your background code into a comment so it does not work anymore.

The phrase “comment out” is a common one in programming.
When you hear it, you should associate that to using the commenting characters to “turn stuff off or add comments to the code”
