The challenge said that my span should have the class attribute set to surplusOrDeficit.toLowerCase() , but I have tried and it is still not working.

Your code so far

output.innerHTML = <span class=${"surplusOrDeficit".toLowerCase()}></span>;

Hey @Mahx
Your code is just Ok you only seem to be missing some backticks.
Enclose the content of the span inside backticks

Happy coding

your double quotes are inside your template literal but should be outside.
i.e.
<span class=“${functionName}”,
instead of <span class=${“functionName”}
i hope this helps.
