Challenge: Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 26

Link to the challenge:

An ol (ordered list) is similar to the ul , which you have one already in you cat photo app. So if we have a look at the way you added the ul:

 <ul>
   <li>cat nip</li>
   <li>laser pointers</li>
   <li>lasagna</li>
 </ul>

We can see that all the list items go inside of the ul.
The ol follows the exact same structure.

<ol>
     <li>List item</li>
     <li>Also a list item</li>
</ol>

Once you’ve added it, you’ll see what the difference is between each list type. Give it a go and see what happens!!

I tried that and it comes up with my tag needing an element name, please help

Could you show me what your code looks like at the moment? It’ll be easier to see how to help.

  • flea treatment
  • thunder
  • other cats
  • sorry that´s weird I copied the code and it came up with that.

  • flea treatment
  • thunder
  • other cats
  • <ol>
    <li>flea treatment</li>
    <li>thunder</li>
    <li>other cats</li>
    </ol>
    ``
    Everything looks fine on the app side I have an ordered list but it still comes up with
    Hint
    Your ol element should have an opening tag. Opening tags have this syntax: <elementName>.`

    That’s really strange, you’ve written everything completely fine.
    The only other suggestions I can really make is to try and restart the challenge and try it again. I’m gonna take a guess your list is under the right h3.

    <h3>Top 3 things cats hate:</h3>
    <ol>
      ...
    </ol>

    Seeing as the list in your other comment was an UNordered list, double check in the editor that it’s <ol> and in the preview, the list items are numbered (instead of bullet points).

    Thank you so much, I refreshed the page and restarted the challenge and it worked first time . Thanks so much for your time and patience.
