Tell us what’s happening:

i tried removing the text and just put <button=“Submit”>
but it spit out the following
button element should have opening tags
button element text should be submit either you omitted the text or have a typo
button element should be under input element have in wrong order
but if i put back the text and change the code to this

please note that this question has been asked and answered many times on the forum. Please consider searching the forum before posting.

The button element doesn’t have an attribute called ‘text’. The step is asking you to add the text Submit to the button which means you should type Submit in between the opening and closing tags of the button element.

i keep getting the error button element text should be Submit either omitted the text or have a typo so under someone advise I took out the text part of the code but that threw up a bunch of errors what am i doing wrong

Hi there!
html didn’t have an attribute called text.
Edit: you only need to add the text Submit between the button opening and closing tags.

so i changed it to <button=“Submit”> but now it say that my button element doesnt have opening tags

because you added the text Submit within the opening tag. you need to add Submit between the opening and closing button tags.
example code:

<openingtag>text</closingtag>

the way my code looks now is <button Submit></button>
and it still says the same thing .

the text needs to go between the tags, not inside one of the tag
