It sounds interesting.
In my opinion the real prize and goal is to be able to use the knowledge and experience from FCC and build an amazing portfolio that will gain the attention of a perspective employer. While it is true that a degree can open up some doors it really boils down to what you can do. That is what will get you the job.

I would like to track my progress in my linkedin account too
That is something amazing. I would definitely want to add this link to my LinkedIn profile to keep track of my progress.
