Make hover increase images

Hello! I have six different images, three in each row.

I want them to increase when hovering over them, and also make the image a link. I have searched trough the whole web but dont find anything suitable.

I have only managed to make the images larger, but not in a smooth way, where it goes from 10 to 20px (f.ex), now it is only 10px, and suddenly becomes 20px when I hover over.

Can someone help me?
