I am trying to pass this step but I keep on getting an error message that I don’t have a valid “author” key.

Thats a typical error and sometimes not easly fixed. I think one problem is when add code manually to the package.json file

  1. You can’t use GitHub to submit, it has to be a running Node.js server.

  2. You are not using the correct boilerplate.

Use the boilerplate on the starting challenge page. Using the Gitpod link would be the easiest, but you can also clone the repo down and do it locally.
