New To Coding / Opinion Needed on Nova Mac App

I am glad I found Free Code Camp when I did. The lessons are sticking and I am figuring it out via Logic and also learned (from exercises I have so far completed) that 99% of the time I either misspelled or thoughtlessly omitted a necessary character.

Also, the Web Design certification is going to help me format my wordpress business website, for customizing it. Bonus: I am no longer apprehensive about programming languages because of the simple steps provided.

I am using a MacBook Pro and intend to use the Nova Mac App (website: “Nova(dot)app”) for development purposes because it is built natively.

Could I have your opinions on it? I used to work in the US Navy and no stranger to difficult work; try working on a submarine.

@JonathanTA
Welcome to FCC !

Nova is a code editor for MacOS that is known for its sleek and intuitive interface. Some users appreciate its native MacOS experience and ease of use, while others find it limited in terms of features compared to other code editors like Visual Studio Code or Atom.

Thanks for the reply!
My only question: will it get the job done? What would you recommend and why?

@JonathanTA
Yes, Nova can certainly get the job done as a code editor, and its native MacOS interface and ease of use may be appealing to some developers. However, it depends on your specific needs as a developer and what you are looking for in a code editor.

Hope this helps !

Doing a short review online, it boils down to user preference. I will keep digging to learn more about my options. I may have a better idea of what to get in later certifications beyond “Web Design”.

I am also familiar with BBEdit from my first college days studying the web portion of graphic design before transferring to Southern New Hampshire University.

Edit: I will hold off on getting one at this point. I will have a much better idea after going through the other certifications.

Edit: I will go with Visual Studio Code like others.

@JonathanTA
Visual Studio Code is a popular and feature-rich code editor that is used by many developers. It has a large community of users and contributors, which means that it is well-supported and constantly being updated with new features and bug fixes. Some of its key features include a wide range of extensions and plugins, an integrated debugging experience, and support for multiple programming languages.

In terms of your web design certification, Visual Studio Code should provide you with all the features and tools you need to build and design your website. Additionally, its large community of users and contributors means that you will have access to a wealth of resources and support to help you along the way.

Overall, Visual Studio Code is a solid choice for a code editor and should provide you with the features and tools you need to get your job done. Good luck with your certifications!

Thanks again for the help, much appreciated. I already have it installed on my Mac.
