I am a High School science teacher with experience programming C++ with Arduino and other, obscure microprocessors.
There used to be a great website written/designed by Dr. Greenbowe and hosted on different university servers through the years. It was written in flash and is no longer supported by many browsers and as far as I can tell it is not hosted publicly anywhere anymore. Here is a screen capture of the site doing its thing on YouTube.
The site was an incredibly helpful simulation of a lab experiment that is cumbersome to set-up and intimidating to many high school students. Using the simulation allowed students to run multiple practices without getting bogged down in the set-up and break-down, and potential failures, before actually conducting the experiment in real life.
I created an arduino-driven, LED indication version of the lab, but it still requires my students to either have the device on hand, or run an Arduino simulation. Iād really like to learn to HTML code something similar that can be hosted for my students to use wherever they have internet access.
So thatās my goal: An interactive website with a few user-selected variables.
Can anyone suggest a path of courses or set of curriculum to help me get to that goal?
I have started sandboxing in codepen.io but there isnāt much direction there. Iām open to different platforms in thereās something better for me to learn.
Thank you in advance for any help and guidance!

I was looking at the curriculum page that all seemed to be geared toward certifications and career development. This is more of a budding side project/hobby, so I hope I found a good intro tutorial. But I think the tutorial above wonāt bring me all the way to my goal. Not sure what the next couple steps on the path will be, or even what topics/lessons I should be searching for.
Thanks for the link! If you have any suggestions about what topics I should pursue within the curriculum, please let me know!
I should add that my goal is also to learn HTML, or Python, or any web programming language and structure. It has been an interest before too, but this project is the one that has motivated me to actually start the journey!
I can find the flash file and a flash player to run the original page as described on this page (which for some reason isnāt allowed to be linkedā¦) adriandingleschemistrypages. com/redox/greenbowes-flash-redox-simulation-lives/. However, our students use 1:1 devices with tightly managed app lists that donāt include ā.swfā readers.
freeCodeCamp is the perfect place to start for this goal. Love to see the ambitious project and the forward movement. Good luck on the learning journey - awesome to see!
Some of the best curriculum the world has to offer. Still amazed it starts with the word āfreeā. You are an amazing contributor @lasjorg Keep up the great work!
