Random reply not working

I’m trying to do the random messages thing,

greetings = ["What's up guys", "hey guys", "hey everybody", "hi everyone", "hi everybody", "hi guys"]

replies = [
  "Sup",
  "hey",
  "yo",
  "What's up",
  "what's goin on"
]

and

 if any(word in message.content for word in greetings):
     await message.channel.send(random.choice(replies))

and when I say for example, “hey guys”, the random reply won’t even work… help?

I think we need more context. Is there a repo for this?

I’ve edited your post for readability. When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (’).
