I noticed that the React courses uses classes, but nowadays everyone seems to be using Function. Will FreeCodeCamp update the react course to function anytime soon ?

The current React curriculum was built a while ago before hooks became the standard in React. There are plans to revise the front end curriculum as part of the all project based learning.
There is no set date for the new front end library curriculum at this time but you can learn more about the project based curriculum in this article
