Every time I come back to this course after a break it doesn’t recognize the correct answer as correct. What is wrong?
Hi, Z. I’m brand new here, but I’ve read a couple of your posts, particularly since you’re involved with CS50 courses—which I’ve just restarted after multi year break.
As I familiarize myself with fCC general environment, an internal bug (?) from the freeCodeCamp, Relational Database course peaks my interest. I don’t have a reply, per se, but I’m thinking it would be helpful to readers and learners if you would post more details in order to make the query meaningful? Like, which question? Is it one instance in one course? Or does it happen elsewhere? etc. Cheers ~mazal
This course is weird, it doesn’t like when you take a break. Anytime I come back after a break it doesn’t register that the correct answer is correct. Also, there’s a bug that allows me to press the ‘Run’ button and it let’s me move on to the next problem without me even doing anything. I am just going to continue to do the problems and press ‘Run’ to move on. It’s currently my only way around it. I could also do the problems in my own VScode then continue to press ‘Run’ which allows me to go to the next problem. The course is good and I enjoy learning more about PostgreSQL, but I suggest if anyone takes this try to complete a section in one sitting to avoid the bugs giving you a headache
UPDATE: I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone. I just made a lot of progress and the course crashed and it didn’t save anything. I was at like 70% complete when it crashed, went back into the course to see I was still at 70% but nothing that I did to go from 45% to 70% was saved
I will be watching a crash course video on youtube to learn more about PostgreSQL. I don’t have time for the bugs in this course. I know it’s a newer course on FCC, but I suggest they take it down and fix the bugs.
same, what can we do? besides noise lmao
LOL I was actually enjoying the course, it was easy to follow, took one break…and things ain’t been the same since
I’m done with these courses, I will learn what I need to learn when the time comes, I have a good enough foundation to work on my react app . Don’t let it consume you, making valuable projects is what’s actually going to make the concepts stick. But maannnnn the headache this course gave me
omg
That’s too bad. I was looking forward to initiating a course here, since Codecademy (and some others) seems mostly fee based for anything beyond basics and previews. cs50 remains amazing and beyond reproach, with a solid dev environment. However I definitely need third-party support and practice. Thanks for sharing, though—you’ve likely saved me time and grief. Caveat emptor!
I totally hear you.
I’ve had it happen on several of the tasks. I thought it was my browser, I’ve tried chrome, firefox, edge and brave. All have the same issues happen. Even tried different db tutorials same thing.
