Hi all. I’d love some feedback on my personal portfolio if you have a few minutes to spare.
I’ve been using Python and bash for a couple years now, and have made very very minimal websites before, but am really just getting started in web development. My aim for this was to try to make something with a minimalist design that is responsive/friendly at all screen sizes. Any suggestions for how to improve?
Thanks so much for looking!
Hi Tim,
Below are some things that I noticed:
- The image on the ‘Home’ page loads very, very slowly.
- The buttons on the ‘Home’ page could use some css to make them work better with the rest of the site.
- The ‘About’ and ‘Portfolio’ headers could use some padding on the top so that they appear when the navigation is used.
- The size of the input boxes in the contact form, could be reduced to look a little more professional.
Overall, the site seems to have good bones.
Nice work.
Thanks, @sceadgugenga!
The image does load very slowly. It’s a big image - before putting this live I would definitely resize/compress, but for this project I’m just pulling it from another site, so not much ability to do that.
I made some of the other changes you suggested in a forked version:
Really appreciate you taking the time to give me some feedback!
Best,
Tim
