Return Early Pattern for Functions pls help

Tell us what’s happening:

Your code so far

// Setup
function abTest(a, b) {
  // Only change code below this line
  console.log("a<0");

  return Math.round(Math.pow(Math.sqrt(a) + Math.sqrt(b), 2));
  return undefined

  // Only change code above this line

}

// Change values below to test your code
abTest(2,2);

Your browser information:

User Agent is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0.

You need to follow the instruction of only change code above/below this line or even if you give the right answer it will not pass

But that is not the right answer. You need to return undefined only if a or b are negative. And a return statement stop the code, so when a return statement is executed everything after that is not used. Your return undefined will not work because it is after an other return statement

convert this to JS code.

if a or b is less than 0 return undefined.

If you don’t understand what if-statements or return values are you can go back to some previous chapter.
