I had an uncle that did that too, his wife wanted him to just settle down with his old job, saying that everyone ends up hating their jobs sooner or later, but he kept at it and ended up getting a job that he’s happier in and one that pays well. I plan on following in his footsteps too but unlike him, I want to be able to work from home like you.
So almost tried to start a group with the OP but it didn’t really get off the ground because the forum didn’t care for discord links being posted. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so quick to drop it. How’s your progress going?
Some of my fears have been realized. Made good progress for most of the year but lately I’ve been stalling. Don’t even have a good excuse besides cringing away from spikes of anxiety and melancholy in general whenever I tried to work. Need to snap back into the right mindset
Hey there!!, we sometimes chat on Discord, but it kind of died off, so here we are again haha. Im doing good, im still very invested in learning, already having finished the JavaSctipt course as well. Thas was harder than the last. Im also studying through an online academy, doing both things at the same time. It really helps consolidate the knowledge. Havent scouted the job market yet, but im feeling that in a few more month i will be ready. Hope you get on track soon! If you need help organizing yourself we can try setting a timetable to study together, I find it helps a lot when you are well organized. See you!
I am 43 and located in the US . I came to realize that I need a career that allows for creativity and problem solving and coding is it. It is never too late to change careers. My grandmother graduated from the University of Oklahoma when she was 55.
@Kjeld I wouldn’t mind hearing from you still, but we’re learning in different places now. I’m just starting Java. I really wish there was just a casual Discord for people taking these courses.
