My link element IS self-closing. I have restarted multiple times to no avail
The test may want you to use the alternative way of writing a self closing element of <link /> (note the slash)

That is correct. They do not, however, teach the student that particular option anywhere, or instruct the student to do so. I think they either need to insert a tutorial for that, before the student gets here, or instruct them to do so.
