Trying to style navbar

Hey, I want to color a navbar for my portfolio, but when I use CSS, only the upper part of it get colored, and the rest is white. I tried playing with the different classes, but just can’t get it right. here is the link:

thanks in advance!

This is what I get when I change the navbar’s background color.

You should also add jQuery and bootstrap.js so the navbar collapse button can work.

yes, that’s the problem, the white strip. how can I remove it?
I need to look exactly how to use jQuery for it, I didn’t saw it anywhere yet

Your navbar has some bottom margin. You can see margins and paddings when you open the browser’s dev tools. Setting it to 0 should fix the problem.

You need jquery and bootstrap.js so the button on the right works:

I successfuly fix the problem with the margin, thanks.

I successfuly fixed the problem, I used margin-bottom: 0; , fixed it. thanks
as for jQuery, I saw in W3schools navbar lessons that they didn’t use any. That’s what I used to make mine navbar. I’m probably missing background stuff there, probabaly with jQuery, I still need to figure this one out.
Another thing is the color of the text inside the buttons. I want it to be black, but I couldn’t change my name’s font (where it says Liraz Arviv). I have done the othere three with:

.nav.navbar-nav li a {
background-color:#99ccff;
margin-top: 5px;
border: 2px solid white;
border-radius: 10px;
margin-left: 20px;
color: black;
}

but for the one with my name, the header, just couldn’t change it.

I finally did it! thank you so much
