Hello everyone, I’m Tristan.

I’m a music producer and web developer. I’m learning code to develop my skills and find new ways to express my creativity.

I’m been learning through a private college in Toronto called HackYou. I’m planning to go through all the freeCodeCamp courses as well.

Cheers.

Hey everyone, i’m a computer science student at Univ. of New Mexico, here to get rounded on the web-side of programming to augment my skills. I’m happy to have found FCC, seems like a great community! Cheers…

Hi everyone,

Hope this message finds you well.

I am another you trying to learn and expand its knowledge and understanding.

I am learning code because I would love to communicate clearly with computers. I have been learning code mostly through courses and different sites.

Looking forward to collaborate with you.

Best regards,
Alejandro

Hey guys, my name is Rayli.

I decided to learn code because after several years of being stubborn and not taking my dads advice to follow his lead and go into coding, I realized that I lost the passion I once had for Exercise Science(what I am currently pursuing a degree in) and found a passion in coding. So I plan on wrapping up my last year at school, getting a degree, and then hopefully being self educated enough to be able to land a degree amongst students that completed a computer science degree.

So far my library offered me a free Lynda.com account, and I ran through the front-end syllabus they had to offer, I read a few books on HTLM, CSS, and JS. And now I am going through what freeCodeCamp has to offer

Hi!
I’m Ceci. I work in IT as a Functional Analyst.
I’m learning to code both to improve my work and to start helping non profit organizations with their projects.
I have been learning to code in various sites, but none of them got to me as freecodecamp has (so far).
Happy to be here!

Hello my name is Nick.

I’m a Tech Producer in London, UK.

I am learning to code because I enjoy learning it and want to push on through to make more useful and function heavy sites!

Previous to this I have tried learning through Udemy, Udacity and various other online learning resources, I’ve got so far but I want to get further.

I’m Vladimyr Mathieu. I’m learning to code to get some part time job and for fun.
I already have some exposure to algorithms.

Hello, my name is Betsy. I recently graduates with an associate’s degree in Information Technology, and I am working on solidifying my skills and experience. I’ve taken four coding classes, and I feel most comfortable with HTML and CSS. I still have a long way to go, so I decided to join freecodecamp. I look forward to getting to know some fellow web developers.

Hi All,

Guy here, 28, living in San Jose, CA. I’ve been an elementary school teacher for the past 6 years, but decided last winter that I needed a change of pace, so I’m approaching the end of my final year in the classroom…for now…

In trying to figure out what my next career move is going to be, I started looking into programming. My partner is a software engineer, and before her, I thought of programming as some mythical process involving exclusively 0s, 1s, and special characters. I didn’t grow up with people who were very tech savvy, so I always thought it was something that was outside my abilities.

I started last December with my very first tutorial on JavaScript basics on Khan Academy, then explored the HTML/CSS and SQL tutorials. A friend of mine suggested I get an Arduino, and I wrote my first “program”–Hello World in Morse code with an LED. I started reading more about Arduino projects and started copying some basic projects I found, but dropped it when I started researching bootcamps out of time constraints.

Coding Dojo is right down the street from me, so I went for an information night, worked through their algorithm practice problems, and took a 1 day HTML/CSS/JS crash course. We worked on the foundation for a simple JS game, which I worked on for a week afterwards, and realized that I was more hooked than I had previously thought.

Come March or so, I found App Academy, and have been working through their Introduction to Ruby materials for the past few months, re-reading tutorials and reworking their practice problems almost daily. I’m still going through that, and am going to give the application process a shot. I made a ‘Towers of Hanoi’ terminal game in Ruby, which was a super fun experience!

After talking with someone who just finished App Academy, they said they wished they had spent more time focusing on JavaScript, so here I am! I had seen freeCodeCamp referenced many times, and had checked it out a few months back. I was listening to an episode of Code Newbie about FCC a couple weeks back, and it made me . Even though it has only been 6 months since I started scratching the surface of programming, I have realized how much I enjoy doing it–it never feels like a chore to put in hours when I get home from work, and I love thinking about problems throughout my day. I’m excited to start getting some of my ideas from my head to the screen, and so far I am appreciating the format of FCC, so I am going to continue to stick with it!

Looking forward to getting to know some of you better throughout this journey.
-Guy

Hi everyone!

My name is Eugene and I am studying Chemical Engineering in the University of Manchester. I was born and raised in Malaysia!

I’m learning to code out of pure interest as well as for an additional skill in the career market.

So far, I have been learning through my mini Arduino set and this freecodecamp website!

Pleasure to make your acquaintance!

Eugene

Hello,
My name is Michael and I’m learning to code because I watched Silicon Valley and want to know what the hell they’re talking about (I’m missing out on jokes here). So far it’s been about as excited as they make it look on TV.

Hi I am Todd and I live in the middle of the mitten (Michigan, USA)

I love to code in any and all languages. Usually back end stuff deep in the databases networking or business logic. Been doing it for… well a long time… and its been for my own use in business. I am interested in some developing some new projects and I will need to build some websites. I have not done much of that and what I have done was quite some time ago so this looks like just the thing to get me up to speed.

Looking forward to meeting some awesome people!

Hi all

My name is Faraj and I’m a production manager at an up and coming marketing and media company in Southern California. I want to be able to handle the web development projects at work without needing to outsource. I find a lot of this stuff really interesting and want to learn more about html, css and bootstrap. Additionally I would also love to make extra money taking on gigs on the side to build simple web pages and maybe even some simple apps. Free Code Camp has been a great resource for me and I’ve already learned a lot in the last couple of days. I used to use codecademy but just fell off of it after a day or two. A month or so ago I played around more with Adobe Dreamweaver and used a video course on Lynda.com to familiarize myself with the software.

That’s all for now I guess. I was recommended Free Code Camp because I’ll actually get to implement what I learned on projects for non profits and I figured that would be the best way for me to really feel confident about what I learn from here. I’m looking forward to learning more!

I’m Dwight from Marshall, MI, USA. I’m a long time database programmer, looking to add some web skills. I’ve been enjoying FCC so far and sounds like a fun set of people. Looking forward to seeing what some of the projects look like.

I am Joe. I don’t like to talk about myself, but I’m trying to do what they say.

h2 { font-family: Lobster; }

Hello Everyone

First of all, let’s just PRETEND the text above has the ‘Lobster’ font. I really like the lobster font now.
I am a kitchen manager at a seafood restaurant called Hooper’s Crab House.

I live in the United States.

I have a very social, hard-working background, and for being only 21, I have worked many many jobs. When I was in middle school I toyed around with Javascript source codes to create my own server on a game called "Moparscape"
I didn’t learn to modify the code from online sources, but simply by reading ALL the code that was already written. Didn’t get a whole lot of useful stuff done in hindsight, but it was fun. I did not take school seriously for the majority of my life, to put it frankly, I found it too simplified and boring.

I study bioengineering, and after I fulfill my hopes to become a biomedical engineer, I’d like to start my own engineering firm and join the greats that are working to innovate the medical field and its technologies today. I have recently gotten into app development in hopes to create a very functional app for the restaurant I work for to increase my salary and take myself to the next level in the company. A level that involves more technology with lobster font and less real lobsters. The restaurant makes millions of dollars, but I suspect the elderly owners have yet to see the potential an app could bring to their business.

Anyways, I started on Android Studio. I learned a lot of cool Java techniques via a long series of youtube videos on ‘How to code an app without learning to code’ but I eventually stopped and came back to learn the basics. I knew this would help me better understand what I was doing, which in turn would give me the skill to apply my knowledge to more specific solutions to my company’s problems. I took the entire CodeAcademy course on Java, got the free Pro trial, finished it in two weeks, got my money back. It was interesting, but not enough of it stuck. I am blessed to have found this new resource, FreeCodeCamp; starting from the bottom with HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap has already given me a more basic understanding of coding, and I hope to continue to develop my skills every day as a sort of ‘second job.’ Taking a giant step backwards and playing to the learning curve with this wonderful resource was a great idea!

Hope to work with some of you in the chat room as we progress through the courses! I plan to use FreeCodeCamp for all that it’s worth. I’m very friendly. Peace.
