Working Full time + studying

Woah. Good topic and useful answers.
Maybe i wrote somewhere on forum, my situation is similar:Working full time, family with 2 kids, finishing University, trying to learn web development…all that at age 36…
At first i asked myself am i normal or do i like it rough, just like that lady in 50 grayscales…
My cousin, who learned just photoshop asked me why i learn so much stuff when he made good $$ just designing web sites in PS?
Anyway, i’m still rocking it, 4 more exams and i am finished with school, I am on my way to become good with JS(or i think so) and probably will change career soon. How i did this? Answer is always power of will and keeping in mind your goal:learning, passion and upgrading yourself, technically and spiritually. This is journey, enjoy every part of it.
Make yourself a schedule that you will follow everyday. You will be amazed what you can do with little will and organisation.

Glad to see there are ppl my age pushing…I’m 37…I was quite skeptical when I started…thought it was too late…then I read some threads onFCC of ppl older than me who landed jobs…quite inspiring.

As i see this situations in life, you can make of it whatever you like. I lack in formal education because i didnt had the time or money to study, i started to work before i finished high school. I have it now, so my decision was to enroll in electrical engineering . Best decision of my life. Bottom line is, you can do great things, as long as you enjoying it.

Hi guys. Sorry that I have not put any updates on here. I have however been reading all your comments when I had a spare moment. So after discussions with a friend in the SW industry, I made a decision. I have quit my job, my last day is the 5th of March, and boy let me tell you I felt so relieved after resigning.I have about 3 months of living expenses covered and if I’m careful, there will be left over. I will be looking for some part time job just to cover at least some of my expenses. I will be studying 5 days a week for about 5 hours per day using freecodecamp to start off with (as I do not qualify for any sorts of grants in Ireland yet since I have only been here for a year or any kind of loan as I didn’t work for long enough here) and slowly start getting a portfolio together as I go along. I’ll also have the same aforementioned friend helping me with any places I get stuck etc. Thank you everyone for your input and advice, all of it was greatly appreciated!!

Best of luck Jinx, I think you made the right call. You’ll make a lot of of progress with continuous efforts. Best of luck to you!

Good luck! Stick around and keep us updated on progress!

I work 8 hours a day. I’m up at 5 am everyday and come home at 5pm everyday. I study C++. I study on my lunch break, I read my notes in my downtime or 10 minute breaks. I come home and read my C++ book and code till late. I average 5 hours of sleep. I try to code in the morning if I can. You have to work harder than anyone else, you have to want it more than anything tbh. Anything is possible
