1000 Days of Coding

I have reached a 1000 day milestone today.

Some days I feel that I have learned a vast amount and others that I know absolutely nothing.

I’m 48 years old, work three jobs and have a family, so struggle to devote as much time to coding as I’d like to. It’s infuriating and rewarding in equal measure, but I am determined to make something of it. I want to make a career change but I have no idea where to start, with the limited time and resources available to me. I’m kinda stuck right now, plugging away steadily at the curriculum, with no real-world experience of coding whatsoever.

I know I have much to learn but I’m more than capable of doing so. I ultimately dream of being a full stack developer or working in AI and/or machine learning, but I also know that it’s a long road ahead. More than anything, I just need to start to earn some kind of living from coding, if only so that I can devote more time to it!

  • you are also building projects (for learning purposes or otherwise) as well, right ?

good luck with your future endeavors and happy coding

I have so little time that the only projects I’ve built so far are those on the FCC Curriculum and a couple of other bits and pieces. I should be building a website for my partner but I’m really not so good at the graphic design side of things so it’s slow going.

Congrats on your excellent achievement @igorgetmeabrain. You know what, I can’t even code continuously for 20 days! You have a lot of patience dude!
