I’m a 16 year old in high school, junior year. I like to think that I can learn fast, and I grasp concepts pretty easily but i’m just curious on what steps I should take to set up my career. Id like to avoid college if possible, but I could still consider going. I love math, and am top of my class in comp sci, even though its only comp sci 2. I want to get ahead of the game and probably be prepared to start my career when i’m 18, if that’s possible. I know my ideas might be a bit naive but I came here to find out the best route for my life.
I would get a university degree if it’s a reasonable option for you. That is the most reliable path to a programming job
Welcome to the forum,
you are not naive at all, you are checking your dreams with reality right now.
I would also advice to go to university at your young age. Not really necessary, but you will have an easier time getting interviews and opening doors throughout your career.
University meaning to pursue a degree? My school does have options aswell to visit a university named Miller i believe, should i consider signing up for that?
Yes, try to get at least a bachelor. For many companies that’s the minimum requirement nowadays.
Employers are already using AI to skim through their applicants and you will land on the rejection pile if the search doesn’t find a BS or MS. Another reason to get the best education you can.
