Ok, so i feel stupid: i am right at the start of this lesson (which i believe is certified) and i am stuck. So two things: either i havent paid enough attention to the former four courses, or its just hard and i need to oeruse outside sources.

should i skip this one for now and come back to it when i know a bit more? or shpuld i punch myseld really hard in the face (like jum carrey in Liar Liar) and accept that i need to pay more attention?

If you feel you didn’t pay attention that is what it is. Giving another try with more attention and supplementing with outside sources in case it doesn’t make sense. Both.

Coding needs attention to detail. It is not easy so as to just get through with lack of attention.

It’s completely normal to feel stuck or overwhelmed when starting a new project or learning something new. Don’t be too hard on yourself! Here are a few suggestions to help you overcome this challenge:

  1. Review Previous Material: If you feel like you haven’t fully grasped the concepts from the previous courses, it might be helpful to review them before diving into the project. This can help reinforce your understanding and make the project feel more manageable.

  2. Break It Down: Break the project into smaller tasks and tackle them one at a time. Start with simpler tasks and gradually work your way up to more complex ones. This can help prevent feeling overwhelmed and make the project feel more achievable.

  3. Seek Outside Resources: Don’t hesitate to use outside resources such as documentation, tutorials, or online forums to help you understand the concepts better. Sometimes, a different explanation or perspective can make all the difference.

  4. Take Breaks: If you find yourself getting frustrated or overwhelmed, take a step back and take a break. Sometimes, stepping away from the problem for a bit can help clear your mind and come back with a fresh perspective.

  5. Practice Patience: Remember that learning takes time and it’s okay to not understand everything right away. Be patient with yourself and celebrate your progress along the way.

Ultimately, whether you choose to skip the project for now or push through it, it’s important to prioritize your learning journey and find what works best for you.
