Backend dev course need to host project myself?

I’m a frontend dev and like to take the backend course on fcc, but it requires to host the project myself but doesn’t tell me how to do that, that’s very confusing

For the certification projects, a lot people use heroku to deploy their apps.
Here is a good article on how to do that.
