Can't seem to align a list for the first HTML course project

I’ve started working on the Tribute Page yesterday, and I’ve tried putting everything in without looking at the template, and I managed to get a few points in before referencing things such as the max-width inputs and other similar lines of code.

The only thing I can’t seem to get a grasp on is how they added a border/margins to the list part of the page while using text-align-left. If I were to use center instead, the bullets would be placed at far edge of the page. Tried everything I could think of and I can’t seem to get it right even after looking at the template. I can’t really explain well but here is what I’ve built so far.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to replicate the styles in the example project?

Yes, and I think i’ve got a few of them down except for the lists part. I’m not sure how they made it to work like that.

you should try to do your own project, not replicate the example

I wanted to fulfill the requirements as well as I could, and I might’ve made it too similar in the process. Do you have any suggestions on what I can make while also following the guide?

I’ve worked on most of the code by myself and with some research, but I just need to get 1 section of the user story*, so I’m stuck.

any kind of tribute page you want, it can be on a famous person, on a fictional character, on anything you want
