Can't sign into main account

I am changing browsers and now trying to log in to my main account I’m asked for my email (which I provide) but not for a password (which of course I could provide). Then I’m send a “code” (6 digits), copypaste them, and logged in I am - with a new account, which I don’t want.

My login for the forum obviously works - so how do I get into my main account in order to continue my learning?

Thanks for your time!

Hello there,

For the freecodecamp.org/learn platform, accounts are identified via email address. So, provided you use the same email address when logging in, the same account will be returned. If you previously logged in using one of the SSO methods (e.g. GitHub), then I suggest trying that method again.

Otherwise, try emailing support@freecodecamp.org providing your email address and username(s), and we will double-check you do not accidentally have a duplicate account.

Note: This forum and the main learning platform are completely separate systems/software/databases. Just to clarify - they are unaware of each other. Also, we moved from a password authentication system long ago: 360 million reasons to destroy all passwords

Hope this helps

Thank you

Very interesting and informative read! So - let’s kill all the passwords first!

Cheers

On second thought: there’s this darned thing called infinite regress.

Where does the email provider send his sign in code to?
How do we secure the login to this email account?

Biometrics have been fooled from day one …
