[COLLATION] Issue claiming new certifications

We have received a few reports of campers being unable to claim certifications despite meeting the requirements.

I have reported the issue on Github and alerted the team about this. Please note that the team is still currently on holiday and will return to work in a few days.

Summary of issue

Campers have reported in the python and responsive web design certifications that they have completed the 5 required projects, passed the exam but then are told they have not completed the projects. However, you can’t qualify for the exam in the first place without first doing the required projects. So it looks like a bug on our end and the team will look into it.

I’ve taken the Python certification exam & the B1 English for Developers exam on the 20th. I completed the required projects & some of the theory pages for the Python course, but not the lessons in the B1 English for Developers course.

For the Python certification exam, I passed with an 86%, but didn’t receive a checkmark on the course page, hence rendering me unable to claim the certificate on the accounts settings page.

The B1 English for Developers page, however, does grant me a checkmark; however, there isn’t a category for it in the certifications section at all.

I’m certain I have agreed to the Academic Honesty Policy & opened the necessary settings to receive the certificates (unless there are any other settings that I’m not aware of).

May I know if this is a bug with the website, or if there’s something I need to do on my end to claim my certificates? Thanks in advance!

(Sorry if the attached picture is a bit blurry; I compiled it in Microsoft Paint :P)

Welcome to the forum @lithium

It can take seven days or more to review the new exams.

Please note that staff are on holiday.

Happy coding

Greetings, sorry if there’s any confusion here, but shouldn’t my exams already be “reviewed” since they’re already graded (as per the image attached in the OP)?

Please refer to the FAQ

I have completed my exam. Why can’t I see my results yet?

All exam attempts are reviewed by freeCodeCamp staff before we release the results. We do this to ensure the integrity of the exam process and to prevent cheating. Once your attempt has been reviewed, you’ll be notified of your results the next time you log in to freeCodeCamp.org.

Please allow 7 days for this process. As mentioned, it’s also the holidays.

Hi all,

I have recently completed the Responsive Web Design certification and I just got my score back from the exam, and I passed. However, the checkbox for the exam section hasn’t been filled and I am unable to claim the certification. Does anybody know how I can fix this?

try to wait a bit, like an hour or so, if it does not help write to support@freecodecamp.org

can you please try again and let us know if you can now?

Its not been working for around a day or so, but thank you

Unfortunately, no-

The issue isn’t really not receiving my grades — I was able to receive my grades just fine — but rather not being able to claim the certificates after receiving the grades.

I’ve seen the B1 EfD certificate issue being mentioned on the fCC GitHub repository here, so it’s probably universal.

My Python certificate exam still isn’t marked as complete on the course page either.

I have the same issue with the Python exam, so it isn’t anything with your settings. I have received legacy certifications fairly recently, and for the Python curriculum I completed 100% of it.

I am guessing there is just some lag for the python page and then certificate to reflect our pass?

For details, I took the Python certification exam on the 22nd and then received my passing grade sometime in the past 24 hours (thank you team for grading it over the holiday week).

check if you have agreed to the academic honesty pledge, if you have and it’s been more than a day, after you have checked again if you can claim the certificate, please write to support@freecodecamp.org

Hi everyone, I just finished my Responsive Web Design exam and passed the exam and I have submitted all five projects. However, when I try to claim the certificate, it says I haven’t finished the required projects. What is the issue please? Thanks for any help!

Can you please provide a screenshot of the error?

Can you provide a screenshot showing checkmarks next to the certification projects?

Hello there and happy holidays. I have completed the projects and passed the exam but when i go to the settings to claim the certificate i get the following message “It looks like you have not completed the necessary steps. Please complete the required projects to claim the Responsive Web Design Certification.”. Is there a problem or should i wait a couple more days? Thanks in advance.

This is my proof that show I have completed my 5 projects and passed the exam. I tried to claim the certificate of Responsive Web Design but only The Legacy one is working, but I wasn’t on the legacy course, I was on the new responsive design curriculum.

This is the same problem I am having. I completed my five projects and passed my responsive design exam yet it keeps showing the error message saying the same thing. But if you try to claim the legacy responsive design V8 it works. Which is weird because I wasn’t on the legacy course…

Can someone clarify this?

Note, screenshots are much, much better than a picture of your computer

How long ago did you complete the exam? It takes 7 days to be reviewed by a human moderator, maybe that is the delay.
