If your primary goal is to sell something online, then I recommend against trying to build your own ecommerce website from scratch. There are lots of platforms that already have done the technical heavy-lifting so that you can jump straight to customization and getting your products on the market.
If you want to learn how to be a developer and you are specifically interested in building ecommerce platforms, then you need to start with the foundations of web development.
